MIRATECH receives updated European Union Atmospheric Explosive (ATEX) re-certification for four spark arresting silencer series.

MIRATECH SPARK ARRESTING SILCENERS ACHIEVE ATEX RE-CERTIFICATION FOR UPDATED EUROPEAN UNION DIRECTIVE

MIRATECH®, a Tulsa, Oklahoma based leader in providing environmentally sound silencer and emission control solutions for users of industrial engines has received an updated European Union Atmospheric Explosive (ATEX) certification for its series of spark arresting silencers:

Building on MIRATECH’s ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System, the recent recertification to the ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU and ISO/IEC 80079-34 standard establishes MIRATECH’s commitment to manufacturing quality products for use in hazardous locations. The updated certificate affirms MIRATECH’s ATEX product designs comply with the latest quality and technical requirements.

Directive 2014/34/EU regulates the equipment intended for use in areas with potentially explosive atmospheres. It requires ATEX certification for all products marketed in the European Union installed in hazardous locations regardless of the place of production and the requirements in force in it.

The previous Directive – ATEX 94/9/EC – was repealed on April 20, 2016. According to the provisions of Article 41 of the new Directive, the certificates of conformity issued under Directive 94/9/EC remain valid as well as products placed on the market before April 20, 2016
