Air/Fuel Ratio Control (AFRC)

MIRATECH’s MEC-R™ (rich-burn) and MEC-L™ (lean-burn) air/fuel ratio controllers continuously monitor and precisely control the air/fuel mix for carbureted natural gas engines. The system is designed to maximize the efficiency and operation of the engine.

For rich burn engines, MIRATECH offers three levels of rich-burn controllers (MEC-R, MEC-R1, and MEC-R9) based on the site and regulation needs.  Because engine loads change during the operation of natural gas-fueled engines, the MEC-R system is designed with a MIRATECH 3-way catalyst to maintain the proper air/fuel ratio over varying speeds, fuel quality, ambient conditions, and barometric pressure.

For lean burn engines, the MIRATECH’s MEC-L control assists with emission and combustion efficiency with the operation of oxidation catalysts.
